What is CBD?

CBD (cannabidiol) is essentially a chemical compound from the cannabis plant. CBD is one of hundreds of active chemical compounds or ‘cannabinoids’ in the marijuana plant. Unlike THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), it is not psychoactive. To be classified as CBD, products must contain 0.3% THC or less, otherwise they are considered marijuana and legislated as such.

CBD acts on a complex system in our bodies called the endocannabinoid system. This system mainly works in our central and peripheral nervous system, the exact pathways and functions are still being studied. Endocannabinoid system is believed to be involved in our memory, appetite, immune system, stress response, pain, sleep, and thermoregulation.

Many brands use a CBD isolate – a cheaper, overly processed extract that is derived by stripping away all of the plant’s natural compounds and isolating only the CBD, which is much less effective.

PearlCBD’s Full Spectrum products retain the hemp plant’s original  terpenes and phytocannabinoids to deliver the best whole plant experience and maximize the “Entourage Effect” while maintaining federally legal  (<0.3% THC).
